In March 16 testimony before the U House of Representatives Aviation Subcommittee, industry leaders told stories of screener being underpaid, lacking pride, needing recent equipment and better training, and the ability of convicted criminals to obtain aviation security do job-works all which culminate in screener turnover rates of athwart 100 percent at many of the nation's airports. The testimony riled a certain quantity of members of the committee, sparking Rep James Oberstar (D-Minn.) to propose the possibility of the direction creating a federal agency to administer airport security, earnestly like the practice several European and Middle Eastern countries.
