Psychological testing of airline pilots and the installation of video cameras in the cockpit will be examined at a Congressional hearing April 11 The inquiry is an offshoot of the EgyptAir Flight 990 crash, in which the actions of a possibly suicidal copilot may have caused the Oct 31 1999 crash that killed all 217 aboard the B767 (see ASW, Nov. 22 1999)

Aviation Subcommittee Chairman Rep John Duncan (R-Tenn) said, "I recognize that many pilots take ill the intrusion that psychological testing and video cameras would impose.
